While attending an art high school in NYC, my friends and I had an after school job of painting needlepoint canvases. The pay was about 75 cents per canvas (they were mostly small), and if you hustled, you could make 3 to 4 dollars an hour. I remember thinking at the time that it was a silly hobby, using pre-made designs and included yarn to make basic creations. I wish I would’ve taken some pictures of the designs for posterity! A lot has changed since then, and now I’m relearning painting techniques as well as website design (phew!)
